Vector tiles are packets of geographic data, packaged into predefined roughly-square shaped "tiles" for transfer over the web.

Vector tile can be added to the map in BlueGIS. There are two ways to access the add vector tile panel. The first way is the 'Add Vector Tile' option under the 'Add Map Service', in the left menu.

The second way is the 'Add Vector Tile' option in the 'Map Services' in the quick menu (+ sign) at the bottom of the screen.

1. Add Vector Tile Panel

Parameters to be entered when adding vector tiles:

  1. Layer Name: Layer name that will appear in the layer box

  2. URL: URL address of XYZ service

  3. Source Layer Name: Layer name used in vector tile

  4. Minimum Zoom Level: The zoom level at which the layer is minimum visible

  5. Maximum Zoom Level: Zoom level at which the layer is maximumly visible

All parameters are required to be filled.

Parameters used in the example:

  1. URL: https://d25uarhxywzl1j.cloudfront.net/v0.1/{z}/{x}/{y}.mvt

  2. Source Layer Name: mapillary-sequences

  3. Minimum Zoom Level: 0

  4. Maximum Zoom Level: 22

Vector tile service is added to the map with the 'Save' button. The result is shown below.

2. Previous Vector Tile Layers

There are 3 main menus in the add vector tile panel. There is a 'History' button under the third main menu. In this menu, vector tile layers added to the map are saved. Thus, you can easily add a vector tile layer you added before to the map without having to re-enter the parameters.

The layer we added in the first step is now displayed in history. It is enough to scroll the box to add it back to the map. If desired, easily remove the layer from history with the "Delete" button.

When the button is selected, the vector tile layer is automatically added to the map again.
