Two layers on the map can be merged by establishing a column or spatial relation. For the layer merge panel, click on the 'Layer Merge - Spatial' option from the options of the layer to be merged in the layer box.
1. Layer Merge Panel
Layers can be merged in 2 different ways: 'Merge with Column Relations' and 'Merge with Geometric Relations' between layers..
1.1. Merge with Column Relations
In the first method, column relation is established between layers.
Information to be entered at this stage:
-
Which table to add information
-
In which column will the information be added
Information to be entered later:
-
From which layer will information be got
-
From which column of the layer this information will be retrieved
-
Relation between columns
-
In which layer will this information be added
At the last stage, the columns that can be added are marked. New layer creation and same geometry options are available.
With Merge layers option the layer can be merged.
1.2. Merge with Spatial Relationship
In the second method, a geometric relation is established between layers..
The information to be entered is as follows.
-
Layer to insert information
-
The layer from which data will be taken
-
Spatial relationship between the two layers
Then the columns that can be added are selected. Options to create new layers and generate the same geometries are available.
With the Merge Layers option, the layers are merged. Sample result is shown below.
